I hope these pictures come out the right size!! This is a picture of my assistant, Marielle, who was the hippy with radical views. She returned to her comune.
This was from the floral convention I went to. The speaker was this amazing Japanese lady named Hitomi Gilliam and this is something she made. Pretty cool, huh?
Those are awesome! Is the floral arrangement ikebana? I took a Japanese history class in that other lifetime when I was a college student, and did an honours project (crossed into the arts) on ikebana. I even got to do sculptures! And... hmm, I think you've inspired a post! *grin*
What sorts of arrangements are your favorite ones to do? I love to arranage flowers and other organic material, and my influences are largely Asian... but I'm only an amateur. ^_~
She spoke a little on Ikebana but her style is really considered more contemporary. I like my flowers to reflect nature so I do not usually spread them out in a typical design. I like to put like flowers together so that it seems as if you just cut a patch out of a field and put them in a vase. I prefer the flowers to seem natural rather than man made. Of course, you get the customers that want the traditional and sometimes it just can not be avoided. The arrangement you saw is something she may do for a special occasion. Hitomi does a lot of wedding work and most of her designs have sticks bound together for lacing the flowers through. I have move pics of her work, I will try to post them if you want to see them. I really enjoyed listening to her because she made me realize that I have the talent to become good at what I do. Everything she said just hit on target with the way I feel about flowers. It was funny, because the next day I took a class on spring designs and the instructor had us put fake grass, plastic eggs, and a plastic pick in the basket arrangement. It was like he did not even hear anything Hitomi said. I was really frustrated with him because he wouldn't let me put the flowers were I wanted to. It was so ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was a jerk also. Anyway, the point is that I try to steer away from the ordinary flowers that you buy in your local supermarket, therefore making them unique. Wow, this is long winded, sorry!!! I hope you are all doing well. I think about you often, I just never have time to get online for very long!!!
Hey love. I am sorry I didn't call you back after Burlington. I went straight to Dr. Cobbs. By the way, Lureta and Bill hired a dog walker and they are going to get a walk between 12-2 every day. And scott is going to make sure they do what needs to be done before they leave to be sure it is easier on us for a few days. They are also getting authorization from the vet to bring the cats in...we will not be paying if there is a problem. I think they are a bit freaked and feel caught because I mentioned being worried about them being in a cage for two weeks...cuz bill said that they were used to it.
Scott is very close to calling animal control. they may regret asking us to watch the animals...the more he sees the more pissed he will get. And it worries me, cuz they are crazy folks. You know?
I have been very distracted lately. Don't know why...maybe work. But I am definately in my own head a lot. Love you though. A lot.
Oh, and I heard you would like to watch Scott and I have sex. Is that true?
Oh Geeezzooohhh..... What is Shawn telling you now.... I just said that I would like to see what Scott is doing wrong!! Maybe give him some pointers in the O area! Maybe he is just too self absorbed, I dont know. You know I love him though. It is hard for me to stay pissed at him once I talk to him. But..... I do think he is doing something wrong in the sex area! You asked!!! I know you don't need any pointers!!!!! So, therefore, it is all him.....
Well, he is being a good boy lately...so I can't really stay mad at him long lately either.
We do need to come up with some good ideas though. Maybe we should plan a sex therapy session when I come to visit. Principle, not practice. You know? Come up with some crazy spice it up brainstorm.
I like the idea of the man who stole a book from the library...I bet Katie would be amused.
